Research Interests/Areas of Expertise

Laura Malik is a Research Associate at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute in the Biosciences Group. Her research interests focus on vehicle ergonomics and vehicle occupant safety. Her responsibilities include collaborating with other staff and technicians, developing methods and protocols, scheduling, data collection and processing, and contributing to resulting publications. She has carried out studies that include testing volunteers of many shapes and sizes in passenger vehicles and vehicle interior mockups that span a wide range of configurations. She is a certified child passenger safety instructor and frequently performs child-seat inspections.
