As part of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act, the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the University of Michigan, along with its partners, have created the Center for Connected and Automated Transportation (CCAT), which serves as the Region 5 University Transportation Center (UTC).
U-M’s partners include the University of Akron, Central State University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Northwestern University, Purdue University, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Washtenaw Community College.
