
Dr. Benedetti is an Assistant Research Scientist in UMTRI’s Data Science Group. He has previously worked in both academic and government roles, most recently as a Lead Mathematical Statistician at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He is experienced in observational study design and data analysis, especially for large, correlated datasets (e.g., spatio-temporal data and complex surveys). In addition, much of his recent work applies causal inference methods, especially those used for policy evaluation. He has published research on occupant safety in motor vehicle crashes, transportation policy evaluation, and statistical methodology.
