Research Interests

Dr. LeBlanc’s research focuses on the automatic and human control of motor vehicles, particularly requirements for, and assessments of, advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS), connected vehicle systems,  and automated driving systems (ADS). He has led dozens of projects with government and industry sponsorship, and has publications in national and international journals addressing topics featuring both light and heavy vehicles, as well as vulnerable road users. He is a frequent collaborator in interdisciplinary research with experts in statistics, data science, human factors, and behavioral sciences.
