Anthropometry & Ergonomics Lab

UMTRI anthropometric modeling
UMTRI uses motion capture technology to create statistical models that help researchers understand and predict human motion.

Providing human body measurement and ergonomic research to help design safer vehicles.

The UMTRI Anthropometry Lab conducts studies of drivers and passengers in vehicles and in laboratory settings.

The Human Motion Simulation Lab develops movement simulation algorithms and ergonomics analysis tools for use with digital human modeling software. The lab uses the PASSFIT™ 3D portable anthropometry system developed by UMTRI researchers Byoung-keon Daniel Park, PhD and Matthew P. Reed, PhD.

CAPABILITIES:

  • IN-VEHICLE TESTING
  • 3D HUMAN MEASUREMENT
  • COMPUTATIONAL HUMAN MODELING
