Dr. Michael Sivak is a research professor in UMTRI's Human Factors Group. He received a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Michigan. Examples of his recent research topics include road safety with autonomous vehicles, transportation fuel economy and emissions, and motorization and driver-licensing trends.
Dr. Sivak is the founder and Director of Sustainable Worldwide Transportation, a research consortium that addresses major road transportation issues worldwide. In 2001, he was named a Distinguished Research Scientist by the University of Michigan.
