Search underway for UMTRI director
January 30, 2015
As the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) enters its fiftieth year, the university is launching a search for UMTRI’s fifth director. "Since it was founded in 1965, UMTRI has gained a world-wide reputation for conducting research in many disciplines, and applying research results in ways that have significantly reduced the negative societal impacts associated with transportation around the world,” said Dr. Larry Schneider UMTRI’s associate director and former head of UMTRI’s Biosciences Group.
“The next UMTRI director will build upon the many successes of UMTRI over the past five decades and lead UMTRI researchers in collaborations with other university faculty and industry partners in conducting and applying research related to transportation safety, mobility, and sustainability for an increasingly complex and rapidly changing global transportation system.”
