Road fatalities down despite more distracted-driving deaths

In a new study in the current issue of Traffic Injury Prevention, research professor Michael Sivak, head of UMTRI's Human Factors Group, and colleague Brandon Schoettle noted that U.S. road deaths declined from 43,500 in 2005 to about 34,000 last year.
