MobiPrize awards to be presented at 2014 ITS World Congress
August 13, 2014
MobiPrize recognizes new-mobility enterprises worldwide that are improving quality of life, environment, and economy through entrepreneurial ventures that advance sustainable transportation systems. This year, the Grand MobiPrize is now three times grander, thanks to Takata and Ford Motor Company. There are also two new prizes—one for Michigan-based entrepreneurs, sponsored by NEXTEnergy, and one for cities or states that are encouraging new-mobility innovation and enterprise.
The 2014 ITS World Congress will also feature a special new-mobility program track allowing selected Mobi applicants to participate in a session and an exhibit that will showcase their work to advance new mobility and improve quality of life through cutting-edge innovations.
“ITS America is proud to support the MobiPrize and help shine a spotlight on the world’s leading innovators that are redefining the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Intelligent Transportation and Next-Generation Mobility sectors,” says ITS America’s Executive Vice President Tom Kern. “ITS America recognizes that today’s emerging young companies will play a significant role in shaping smarter cities, and the MobiPrize exemplifies a commitment to encourage investment in new mobility to create a safer, smarter, more efficient and sustainable surface transportation network.”
