Flannagan to speak at Injury Center lunchtime seminar

UMTRI assistant research scientist Carol Flannagan will present Traffic Crash Data on Tuesday, February 14, from noon-1 p.m. at the U-M School of Public Health, room 1680 (Crossroads). Flannagan and U-M associate professor of neurology Jeffrey Kutcher, who will speak on Sports Concussion, will give their presentations as part of the U-M Injury Center lunchtime seminar.

Flannagan is research director of the Center for the Management of Information for Safe and Sustainable Transportation. She has done extensive work in the area of injury prediction in crashes, including development of an injury severity prediction algorithm for OnStar in collaboration with GM. She leads efforts to fuse crash, EMS, hospital, driving, and other transportation-related datasets to help find answers to pressing questions in transportation safety and sustainability. Her presentation is entitled "Exploring the Effects of Demographics, Driver Behavior, and Technology on Traffic Safety."
