Child Passenger Safety Certification Training Program offered

The National Standardized Child Passenger Safety Training Program will be offered at UMTRI on May 12, 13, 14, and 21. The program is a hands-on curriculum that teaches the basics of child passenger safety and correct child restraint use.
Miriam Manary, senior research associate in the Biosciences Group, is lead instructor for the course. The four-day course will be held at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, 2901 Baxter Road, Ann Arbor, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (May 12 and 13); 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (May 14); and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. (May 21). To become certified, participants must attend all four days.

According to the SafeKids website, tens of thousands of individuals have been certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians and Instructors since the standardized curriculum and certification program began in 1997.
