Tailored Teen Alcohol and Violence Prevention in the ER (PI: Maureen Walton)

The major goal of this project is to develop, implement, and evaluate brief interventions to reduce alcohol use and violence among adolescents who present to an urban Emergency Department and screen positive for alcohol use or violent behavior. A randomized controlled trial with follow-up will be conducted with three groups: Tailored computerized approach, motivational interviewing approach, and a control group.
