Michael R. Hagan
Mr. Michael R. Hagan is the manager of computer systems for UMTRI's Engineering Research Division. He earned a degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Michigan in 1975.
Mr. Hagan is a graduate electrical engineer responsible for leading all instrumentation and data processing initiatives within UMTRI's Engineering Research Division. He has been involved in transportation-related data collection and data processing for twenty-four years. His efforts include systems design; analog, digital, and interface circuit design; real-time software; digital signal processing; and database design. His major instrumentation/control designs include a self-calibrating digital data acquisition system, a PC-based suspension test facility, a minicomputer-based motorcycle-tire dynamometer, an over-the-road non-contacting profilometer, a gear lubricant test stand, engine and lubricant test stands, an emissions test stand, and a heavy vehicle dynamic stability enhancement system. He also developed and implemented the data-handling architecture for an adaptive cruise control field operation test and managed the ten-vehicle fleet. Mr. Hagan supervises electronics technicians and programmers in support of these operations.
