State Crash Databases
State datasets are maintained by UMTRI\'s Transportation Data Center. The collection currently includes files for California, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Washington. The strength of the police-collected state datasets is that they are census data and consequently document all reportable crashes during a calendar year. This data is also useful for general descriptive studies of important safety-system parameters (e.g., seatbelt or alcohol usage).
