Crash analytics: How data can help eliminate highway deaths

Traffic crashes cause more than 30,000 fatalities and send 2 million people to the emergency room each year. The societal and economic costs of these crashes can be expensive. A study conducted by UMTRI shows that in Michigan alone the total societal costs associated with motor vehicle crashes reached $9.1 billion in 2009. Read the full article.
