Vision in Vehicles

Driver vision is overwhelmingly important for driving performance and safety. Because of this, UMTRI has throughout its history developed and maintained a strong expertise in vision science. Several UMTRI faculty members have their primary academic training in vision, and UMTRI has a wide array of laboratories and equipment to support the study of vision in the context of driving. Analytical, simulator, and on-the-road studies are included in the repertoire.
