Pregnant Occupants
UMTRI researchers are uniquely qualified in occupant protection for pregnant occupants and on the causes of fetal injury and death in motor-vehicle crashes. Studies conducted include defining the anthropometry of the pregnant driver in relation to interior components and seatbelts, in-depth investigations of crashes involving pregnant women, and the development and evaluation of an advanced pregnant crash dummy, MAMA-2B.
