In this current environment, understanding how to effectively incorporate new technology advancements is critical to launching new products. Our third conference of the year will focus on the business and engineering impact 3D non-contact measurement technologies, such as white light and laser scanning, are having on digital engineering and manufacturing process validation. Our mix of speakers from the UM, the aircraft, automotive, and motorcycle industries offer an excellent opportunity to learn how different companies are utilizing 3D non-contact measurement and imaging technology to improve engineering design, tooling construction, and manufacturing quality.
Confirmed speakers include:
Patrick Hammett, PhD and Luis Guzman, PhD of University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, will moderate the conference, and discuss their research on developing new analysis methodologies.
Steve Ellison, Engineering Manufacturing Technology Manager, General Motors Corporation, will discuss GM’s introduction of this new technology across various body development and manufacturing processes.
W. Talion Edwards, Associate Technical Fellow, 3D Imaging and Reverse Engineering for The Boeing Company will talk about reverse engineering applications in complex aerospace systems.
Dwight Carlson, Chairman and CEO of Coherix, will talk about the impact of 3D metrology in powertrain applications
Evangelos Liasi, PhD and Gerald McLaughlin of Ford Motor Company will discuss applications in die construction
Tiffanie Coe, Tim Gregorio, and Chris Purdy of General Motors will examine the use of 3DNC measurement and virtual matching techniques to improve Tail Lamp Quality.
Speaker of Harley Davidson has been invited to discuss their usage of 3D Non-Contact measurement to improve their launch process.
