The NASS GES data sets for calendar year 2003 document 59,156 crashes, involving 147,730 occupants in 105,295 vehicles, and 3,437 nonmotorists.

New code values have been added for Trafficway Flow (V15), Seating Position (V205), and Make/Model (V106). Motor Carrier ID Number (V117) has increased from 8 characters to 9 characters in length.
