The NASS CDS Version 29Aug00 data sets for calendar year 1999 document 4,274 crashes (with 2,406 of them involving two vehicles), 7,490 vehicles, and 9,770 occupants suffering 29,550 injuries.

The Accident level variable Ran Off Road was dropped and truck underride was added. In the ADAAS system V124 Ran Off Road is replaced by Truck Underride. At the Vehicle level there are no changes from the 1998 Version May 25, 2000 file (see below for a details on this second release of the 1998 NHTSA file). There are no changes at the Occupant and Injury levels.
