The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) National Center for Statistics and Analysis (NCSA) bases its 1999 FARS reports on Version 06Sep00 ARF of the FARS files.

These data sets document 37,043 accidents (with13,674 of them involving two vehicles), 56,668 vehicles, 93,695 occupants and 6,662 nonmotorists.

New variables Race and Hispanic Origin have been added to the Person File and GIS coordinates for latitude and longitude have been added to the Accident File.
