The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) National Center for Statistics and Analysis (NCSA) bases its 2007 FARS reports on Version 10Jun08 of the FARS files.

The data sets document 37,248 crashes (with 12,678 of them involving two vehicles), 55,926 vehicles, 87,581 occupants and 6,141 nonmotorists.

PLEASE NOTE: Starting in 2005, NHTSA codes a record for not-in-transport (NIT) vehicles (parked or working in the road) and their "occupants," who are considered non-motorists. These NIT vehicle records are NOT included in the ADAAS vehicle and 2-vehicle datasets. The NIT "occupants" are in the non-motorist file (as they have always been).
