The 2006 Maryland accident file contains 101,888 records, the vehicle file contains 188,760 records, and the occupant file contains 249,154 records, and the nonmotorist file contains 4,097 records.

Variables 157 through 177 describe the vehicle according to a decode of its Vehicle Identification Number. This data was derived using the VINDICATOR program from the Highway Loss Data Institute.
